Dr Arul Sundaraj

Dr Arul Sundaraj is a General and Endoscopic Surgeon based in Queensland, Australia. He practises privately at Sunnybank Surgical Associates and operates at North Lakes Day Hospital. He also holds a public appointment as a Surgical Consultant at The Prince Charles Hospital and a rural appointment with Flying Surgical Services.

Dr Sundaraj completed his undergraduate medical degree in India before undertaking a Master’s degree in General Surgery. He later completed his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh before relocating to Australia. His initial surgical training was completed at Westmead Hospital, followed by advanced surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery.

His clinical interests include skin lesion excision, hernia surgery and gallbladder surgery. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Sundaraj has a special interest in teaching and research. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, the European Society of Coloproctology and the European Hernia Society.
