Dr Arifa Khan

Dr Arifa Khan is an experienced and highly sought-after Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based at Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga. She is also an accredited practitioner at Genea (formerly Sydney IVF).

After graduating in medicine and surgery in 1989, Dr Khan began her training at Westmead Public Hospital, completing her internship and residency before entering the Family Physician Training Program. She worked as a family physician in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 1998. While she found general practice deeply rewarding, her passion for women’s health and shared antenatal care inspired her to return to specialist training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

In 2003, Dr Khan was awarded a travelling scholarship that enabled her to undertake advanced training in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery at internationally renowned centres in France and Italy. She subsequently spent a year working in the United Kingdom, further broadening her clinical experience. During this time, she also presented her research at international conferences, including the International Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy.

With almost 25 years of experience in women’s healthcare and fertility management, Dr Khan is known for her personalised, compassionate approach. As a dedicated wife and mother of two, she brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work.
