Dr Anju Abujam

Dr Anju Abujam is a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive care for both outpatients and inpatients. With a clinical focus spanning adult and old age psychiatry, she is committed to supporting individuals navigating complex mental health challenges. Dr Abujam is particularly passionate about the mental health of the elderly, women's mental health, and trauma-related presentations. Her reassuring and patient-centred approach ensures that individuals receive compassionate, tailored support throughout their recovery journey.

Believing in a holistic approach to mental healthcare, Dr Abujam integrates evidence-based pharmacotherapy with psychological and social interventions. She works collaboratively with her patients to implement lifestyle modifications that support long-term wellbeing. Her practice is characterised by a thorough understanding of diverse mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders, ensuring that each treatment plan is uniquely suited to the individual's needs.

Dr Abujam completed her initial medical training in India, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). After relocating to Australia, she completed her specialist training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2023. To further her expertise in psychogeriatrics, she also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Old Age Psychiatry from the same college. She remains an active member of the professional psychiatric community, dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
