Dr Andrew Roberts

Dr Andrew Roberts is a highly qualified and compassionate Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care to patients of all ages, including children, young people, and adults. Adopting a deeply humanist perspective, he is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where patients can engage in meaningful, reflective conversations. Dr Roberts tailors his clinical approach to the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that every patient receives personalised and reassuring care.

Throughout his career, Dr Roberts has worked across a diverse range of clinical settings in both the public and private sectors. His areas of clinical interest include supporting neurodivergent children and adolescents, assisting infants and their parents, and caring for individuals with a history of trauma, schizophrenia, bipolar illness, depression, and anxiety. In his practice, he integrates a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models, drawing on neurodevelopmental, evolutionary, attachment, mentalisation, cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, existential, and psychodynamic frameworks.

Dr Roberts completed his medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2002. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science. Committed to the highest standards of psychiatric practice, he is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Additionally, he holds an advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, reflecting his specialised expertise in supporting younger populations and their families.
