Dr Anca Corbu

Dr Anca Corbu is a highly qualified and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist who is dedicated to providing patient-centred care. Originally from Eastern Europe, she relocated to Australia, where she completed her specialist medical training. Dr Corbu is committed to delivering evidence-based psychiatric care while carefully considering the unique personal factors that influence each individual's mental health. She believes in working collaboratively with her patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to support individuals in enhancing their coping mechanisms and discovering their inner balance.

Throughout her career, Dr Corbu has gained extensive experience across a diverse range of psychiatric domains, including acute, chronic, and rehabilitation psychiatry, as well as cultural and forensic psychiatry. She specialises in Adult Psychiatry, with a particular clinical interest in psychoanalysis, old age psychiatry, and addressing psychiatric problems in clients living with a disability. Her therapeutic approach is designed to help patients navigate complex mental health challenges and achieve long-term well-being.

Dr Corbu holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Doctor of Medicine (MD). After moving to Australia, she completed her specialist psychiatric training and obtained her Australian Medical Council (AMC) certificate. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
