Dr Alex Pilsky

Dr Alex Pilsky is a highly regarded Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. With extensive experience across both private practice and public hospital settings, he is dedicated to supporting adults facing a diverse range of psychological challenges. Dr Pilsky adopts a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with individuals and their families to develop tailored treatment plans. He believes in achieving optimal outcomes through an evidence-based combination of empathic listening, medication management, and individual or group therapy.

In his clinical practice, Dr Pilsky focuses on the assessment and management of general adult psychiatric conditions. His areas of interest include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He is also highly skilled in adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and perinatal psychiatry, helping patients navigate mental health challenges during the perinatal period. Additionally, Dr Pilsky offers advanced treatment options such as neurostimulation, specifically repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), to support patients with treatment-resistant conditions.

Dr Pilsky completed his medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University, followed by a Master of Psychiatry from the University of Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Committed to specialised fields of psychiatric practice, he also holds a Certificate in Forensic Psychiatry and is a Certified Assessor for Permanent Impairment. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Pilsky is dedicated to continuing medical education, regularly lecturing General Practitioners on mood disorders and perinatal mental health to improve broader patient outcomes.
