Dr Albert Nwaba

Dr. Albert Nwaba is a highly skilled Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with expertise in a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. He Holds a triple Fellowship from Australia, United Kingdom and the United States of America. He completed his advanced specialist training in General Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology, including liver transplantation, in Perth, Western Australia. Dr. Nwaba further pursued his medical training in the United Kingdom after graduating from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria.

His subspecialist interests include chronic and acute liver diseases, endoscopy, viral hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and general gastroenterology. Dr. Nwaba provides consultations at North West Private Hospital, where he treats patients with chronic liver disease and performs various endoscopy procedures.

Dr. Nwaba is also a Clinical Lead and Visiting Medical Specialist at Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe and North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.  He has private rooms at Specialist Care Australia in Ulverstone and the North West Private Hospital in Burnie.

In addition to his clinical roles, he serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Rural Clinical School at the University of Tasmania, Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee, North West Private Hospital and actively involved in Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) where he serves in several committees including Education, Private Practice Network (PPN) and Regional and Rural Special Interest Group.
