Dr Ahmed Maruid

Ahmed Maruid is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Liverpool, NSW. He practises at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, Fairfield Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, and Shoalhaven Hospital. His consulting rooms are located at Suite 6, Level 4, Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, 24–40 Bigge Street, Liverpool, NSW 2170.

He has over 15 years of experience working across some of Sydney’s busiest public and private hospitals. He previously served as Director of the Maternity Unit at Fairfield Hospital and completed his obstetrics and gynaecology training entirely within the Sydney Southwest Area Health Service. At Liverpool Public Hospital, he held positions as Accredited Registrar, Senior Registrar, Pelvic Fellow and Feto-Maternal Fellow.

He manages high-risk pregnancies and a broad range of gynaecological conditions, offering both conservative and surgical treatment options. His surgical expertise includes advanced laparoscopic procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy (level 5), endometrial ablation, resection of fibroids, myomectomy, and excision of pelvic endometriosis. He also performs forceps deliveries, complex caesarean sections, vaginal surgeries including cystocele and rectocele repair, pelvic reconstruction, and uro-gynaecological procedures such as slings for stress urinary incontinence and cystoscopy. Cosmetic procedures such as labiaplasty and pelvic floor repair are also part of his surgical offering.

Dr Maruid provides regular public health clinics at Fairfield Hospital, including an antenatal clinic on Tuesdays, caesarean section lists on Thursdays, and a gynaecology surgical list four times per month. In addition to his public hospital commitments, he runs a private practice where he delivers babies and performs advanced gynaecological procedures on a weekly basis at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital.
