Dr Abu Islam

Dr Abu Islam is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds. He thoroughly enjoys the diverse nature of family medicine and strives to deliver personalised healthcare solutions that support his patients' long-term well-being. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Islam focuses on building strong, trusting relationships with those under his care, ensuring they feel supported throughout their health journeys.

Dr Islam earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Bangladesh before relocating to Australia. After successfully completing his Australian Medical Council examinations, he gained valuable clinical experience working across various hospitals in South Australia and Tasmania. He subsequently entered the Australian General Practice Training programme, completing his specialist training and obtaining a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Throughout his career, Dr Islam has developed a broad range of clinical interests. He is highly skilled in chronic disease management, with a particular focus on diabetes and renal failure, as well as preventative health and travel medicine. His practice also encompasses men's health, sexual health, and paediatrics. In addition to general consultations, Dr Islam performs various minor clinical procedures, including skin cancer checks, skin excisions, suturing, and contraceptive implant insertions and removals.
