Dr Abhishek Verma

Dr. Abhishek Kumar Verma is an experienced general practitioner. Graduating from the University of New South Wales in 2008, he earned several prestigious awards, including the RANZCO Ophthalmology Medal and the Australian Cancer Council Medical Student Scholarship. His dedication to rural healthcare was recognised with the NSW Rural Doctors Network Bush Bursary.

Furthering his academic pursuits, Abhi earned a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2014 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2016. His medical interests encompass minor skin excisions, mental health, chronic disease management, and women’s health, where he specialises in procedures like Implanon insertion/removal and antenatal care.

Beyond clinical practice, Abhi is committed to medical education, serving as an examiner for the RACGP Fellowship examination and contributing to numerous journal articles and book chapters. He also holds roles on the Victorian Medical Board and as a Board Director of various rural health services.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Abhi was honoured with the prestigious Victorian GP of the Year Award 2022 and was also named the joint winner of the Australian GP of the Year Award 2022.
