Before surgery, the anaesthetist will meet with the patient to discuss their medical history, any allergies they may have, and the type of anaesthesia that will be used. They will also answer any questions the patient may have about the anaesthetic process.

On the day of surgery, the anaesthetist will administer the anaesthesia and monitor the patient's vital signs throughout the procedure. They will also be available to answer any questions the patient's family or friends may have.

After surgery, the anaesthetist will continue to monitor the patient's recovery and provide pain relief as needed. They will also provide the patient with instructions on how to care for themselves at home.
