Dear Team, I have been a patient at your hospital and both of my pregnancies have been managed under your care under the observation of Dr. Meenu Mathur. My first pregnancy was managed by Dr. Meenu Mathur without any concerns, and my second pregnancy was also under her care at Al Nahda, Sharjah. At 38 weeks of pregnancy, with an expected due date of 17 June, I attended my scheduled appointment with Dr. Meenu Mathur on 4 June. A CTG was performed, and I was informed that the baby was doing well. However, on 5 June, I noticed reduced fetal movements from the morning onward. As a mother caring for a one-and-a-half-year-old child and being alone at home while my husband was on duty, I faced difficulty reaching medical care immediately. Since I live in Sharjah and the hospital is located in Dubai, arranging transportation took some time. Concerned about the reduced fetal movements, I visited your Al Nahda, Sharjah clinic on the evening of 5 June. I attempted to book an appointment through the application, but it was not functioning at that time. As Dr. Meenu Mathur was off that day, I attended as a walk-in emergency patient seeking assistance under Dr. Manar Hajali. Initially, I was informed by Ms. Nisha from the nursing staff (working under Dr. Meenu Mathur) that there were four patients waiting and that I would need to wait for my turn, which I was fully prepared to do. However, within a minute, I was informed that the doctor would not see me and that I should proceed directly to the hospital. I explained my situation to Ms. Nisha, including my concern regarding reduced fetal movements, the fact that I was alone, and the distance I still needed to travel to the hospital. I specifically requested that someone simply check the baby’s heartbeat to provide reassurance while I made my way to the hospital. At that point, I was informed that there were other patients waiting and that another patient at 41 hweeks of pregnancy was considered a higher emergency priority than my case. My request was declined. Despite this being a brief and basic assessment that could potentially have been completed within a minute, neither the nursing staff nor Dr. Manar assessed me or performed even a fetal heartbeat check. When I eventually arrived at the hospital and explained the incident, the nursing staff there expressed concern and advised that, at a minimum, the baby’s heartbeat should have been checked before directing me elsewhere. Thankfully, my baby was delivered safely the following day. While I am grateful that the outcome was ultimately positive, I remain deeply concerned by the experience I had at the clinic. A woman at 38 weeks of pregnancy reporting reduced or absent fetal movements should, in my understanding, be treated as an urgent case regardless of physician assignment or patient queue volume. At the very least, a basic assessment or fetal heartbeat check should have been performed before redirecting me. Following this incident, I escalated my concern through the appropriate channel and met with Mr. Faisel (PRO/Admin) at Prime Clinic, Al Nahda, Sharjah on 13 June. I explained the entire sequence of events and requested that the matter be investigated. Mr. Faisel requested one day to review the incident. On 14 June, I received a follow-up call. During this discussion, I was informed that my visit occurred on a Friday and that there had been a shortage of doctors on that day. I was also informed that I had crossed my expected labour date. However, this information was factually incorrect, as my due date was 17 June and I attended the clinic on 5 June, which was prior to the due date. Additionally, I was informed that the doctor’s decision to redirect me to the hospital was made for the betterment of the patient. While I understand and respect clinical judgement, I respectfully disagree with the handling of my case. My concern is not that I was advised to proceed to the hospital, but rather that no immediate assessment or reassurance was provided despite reporting reduced fetal movements and specifically requesting a fetal heartbeat check. I was distressed, alone, and concerned for my unborn baby. Being told that another patient was “more emergency” than my case without any assessment felt dismissive and inappropriate. Emergency presentations should be assessed individually based on clinical need rather than queue status, physician assignment, or staffing shortages. I also do not believe that shortage of doctors or the fact that it was a Friday should justify the refusal to perform even a basic assessment before directing a pregnant patient elsewhere. I believe this situation represents a serious lapse in patient care and raises concerns regarding how emergency presentations are handled within the clinic. No other pregnant patient should have to experience a similar situation during such a vulnerable stage of pregnancy. I would appreciate a formal review of this incident and an explanation of the clinic’s policy regarding the management of pregnant patients presenting with reduced or absent fetal movements. My overall experience with Dr. Sherif Awad and his clinic was very positive. Dr. Sherif is an exceptional surgeon—professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and an excellent listener. He took the time to explain every step of the process in detail, answered all my questions patiently, and made me feel supported throughout my treatment and surgery journey. The clinic staff were also kind, professional, and welcoming. The only challenge on the outpatient side was communication by phone. Reaching the clinic can sometimes be difficult as calls need to go through the hospital operator, and patients often have to wait for the clinic to call back. While the team was always helpful once contacted, a more direct communication channel would significantly improve the patient experience. Unfortunately, my inpatient stay at Emirates Hospital Healthcare City for two days and one night following surgery was disappointing and fell well below the standard I expected. First, the room itself felt outdated and in need of refurbishment. The sofa's leather was visibly worn, and the bed pillow had stains on it. For a premium healthcare facility, the room condition did not reflect the level of quality I anticipated. More concerning, however, were two major issues: 1. Response times to patient requests were often excessively long. On one occasion, I waited more than two hours after requesting pain relief before receiving my IV pain medication. For a patient recovering from surgery and experiencing significant discomfort, this was extremely distressing. 2. The noise levels made rest almost impossible. During the day, there was continuous noise from a construction site directly outside the room window. Inside the ward, every patient call button triggered a loud beeping alarm that could continue for extended periods until a nurse responded—sometimes for close to an hour. This resulted in near-constant noise throughout the day and night. Sleep and recovery were further impacted by loud conversations and laughter among staff during the night, ongoing alarm sounds, and even cleaning activities in the early hours of the morning. The most frustrating incident occurred around 2 a.m. when a cleaner repeatedly hit our room door with a mop while cleaning the corridor, waking both me and my husband. For patients recovering from surgery, adequate rest is essential, and this environment made that nearly impossible. While I am extremely grateful for the excellent care provided by Dr. Sherif Awad and appreciative of the professionalism of the clinic team, the inpatient experience at the hospital was not satisfactory and requires significant improvement. Better room maintenance, faster nursing response times, and a much stronger focus on creating a quiet healing environment would greatly enhance the patient experience.

Then came the moment we feared the most. He told us that surgery would be necessary. Once again, we felt scared. We hesitated. We tried to delay it, hoping things might improve without such a big step. But the doctor didn’t pressure us—he guided us. He spoke to us about timelines, and about what was best for our daughter’s future. Slowly, visit after visit, he prepared us for that decision. And one day, we were ready. The day of the surgery was one of the hardest days of our lives. Handing our little girl over for the procedure was filled with emotion, prayer, and hope. But deep inside, we held on to the trust we had built in our doctor. That trust carried us through. I will never forget the moment when the doctor came out after the surgery. He had a smile on his face—a smile that brought us instant relief. He told us, “Everything is alright.” That moment will live in my heart forever. It wasn’t just the end of a surgery—it was the beginning of hope. As the doctor told us, this is a journey, not a single step. We continue our follow-ups, watching closely, learning every day. But Alhamdulillah, after the surgery, her eye pressure is stable. Each visit now carries more peace than fear. We still pray for her full recovery—Al shifa, insha’Allah. My overall experience with the hospital during delivery was good, and I am grateful for the safe arrival of my baby. However, there are several areas that need improvement, particularly regarding nursing care. In the delivery room, the nurse inserted IV cannula incorrectly, which resulted in significant bruising and pain in my arm that lasted for weeks. Despite my repeated requests to have it checked or removed, my concerns were not addressed. I was also uncomfortable with the nurse trying to push on my stomach during labor. After delivery, I was surprised that no one came to provide guidance on newborn care, feeding, or basic postpartum instructions. In my experience, many hospitals offer support and education for new parents during this important time. While the overall medical care was satisfactory, I believe improvements in nursing practices, patient communication, and postpartum education would greatly enhance the patient experience.

I like to share and escalate this as I have been visiting the branch from last 9-10 years. Everything was fine but we observed from last year that there are lot of air freshners added to the place which are so strong that it is most of the time hard to bear it. I request to close those all air freshers so people can have normal air to breathe. I was there for my one kids normal check up appointment and when we landed at pharmacy, to my surprise there was also a lot of air freshner that didn't cause irritation to me but also my other kid who stayed with me at pharmacy start complaining soar throat. Requesting the concern team to get rid of those air fresheres removed as soon as possible. I heard other visitors complaining about same and you can check with the staff as well to confirm how many visitors request them to turn off those air freshners. Thank you for your understanding.
