Professor Stephen Greene is a consultant paediatrician at London Medical specialising in general paediatrics, growth and development, and paediatric endocrinology including diabetes. He has spent time researching diabetes in the young and has previously been elected as president for the International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes. He has also been awarded the Diabetes UK ‘Arnold Bloom Lecture' and has been the chairperson of diabetes guideline committees. Prof. Greene has expertise in all aspects of diabetes in children, teenagers, and young adults, and has a particular interest in the use of technology such as pumps, glucose, sensors, and communication apps to support the monitoring of those with the condition; enabling his patients to live their lives as normally as possible with diabetes.

After qualifying with his medical degree from University College London in 1973, Prof. Greene went on to work in a number of hospitals including Great Ormond Street, Guy's Hospital, and the Kinderspital Hospital in Zurich. During his career, he has held numerous key positions in child health and spent time as secretary to the Academic Board of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health as well as the director of the Scottish Children's Research Network and Director of Research Children's Health Queensland.
