Professor Ayliffe undertook cataract surgery on both my eyes during two separate procedures, two weeks apart from each other. He determined that I needed prompt treatment based on my extremely poor sight and ensured that I received treatment very quickly. I was anxious about the procedure as I am a nervous patient, but I was reassured I was in excellent hands with Professor Ayliffe based on his credentials, experience and the consultation I had with him. I gained a sound understanding of what the cataract surgery process involved and the desired outcome and was able to ask any questions. My experience of the procedures was excellent. I was totally at ease throughout and although I was fully aware and conscious during the surgery, I did not feel any discomfort. My eyes have recovered very well following the surgery and I have experienced the benefit very quickly indeed. I have been delighted with the outcome of my restored vision! During my post operative follow up consultations, Professor Ayliffe confirmed that he was happy with my eyes and that the desired outcome had been achieved.

Professor Ayliffe is one of the most fantastic doctors I have ever come across. He is kind and incredibly conscientious with a great patient manner. He truly wants to get the best outcomes for his patients and will go way above and beyond to do so. I only had light vision in my right eye after developing a cataract as a complication of uveitis. Professor Ayliffe operated on my eye after trying to optimise my condition as far as possible and managed to restore my sight to 20/20 vision. He is an excellent surgeon and medic and I feel very fortunate to be under his care.

I have been seeing Prof. Ayliffe for a few years for the treatment of uveitis. He is a very experienced consultant in the field - perhaps the most among all I have met - who managed to put my (very stubborn) condition into remission. Addditionally, he is also very kind and considerate, which I really appreciate.

I have been under Professor Ayliffe for the last 15 years or so and my experience with him has always been first class. His knowledge is second to none and he always puts the interests of the patient first. He is also very informative to advise you what is going on and has a very easy manner in explaining procedures or treatment to the patient. I cannot recommend him too highly - he also has a good sense of humour!
