Professor Ayliffes' manner is direct, professional and caring and I cannot thank him enough for improving my eyesight after cataract removal in both my left and right eyes. In particular the sight has improved in my left eye which I had been told for many years was not possible due to amblyopia (lazy eye). I now only need glasses to read and I am so grateful to be able to see the world in such colour and detail.

Very professional and very kind, providing me with confidence that the procedure would be a success.

My experience with Professor Ayliffe has been extremely positive. I met Prof Ayliffe initially in 2004 when he first diagnosed my condition. My treatment at that time was intensive as the condition was in crisis. Prof Ayliffe was methodical and reassuring throughout especially as the condition is sight threatening. My condition stabilised and I was discharged from the hospital, at that time NHS. My condition returned and when I recommenced treatment at the hospital I was dismayed to note that Professor Ayliffe had left and in fact the unit had changed hands. My treatment within this unit for the then 10 plus years became frustrating and repetitive with the consultants being different every time I attended and the same treatment being offered despite evidence that it was not effective. Early 2021, my eye sight was still worsening and following a conversation with my optician, I ascertained the whereabouts of where prof Ayliffe was practicing. I immediately made an appointment. Having then commenced treatment under prof Ayliffe’s care and within a short period of time, my condition has dramatically improved. I am fortunate that i have found prof Ayliffe who I trust implicitly with care of my condition and am grateful that I was able in 2004 to have had the good fortunate to have him diagnose and treat me at the outset.

Undoubtedly, had I not met Prof. Ayliffe when I did, I would have lost my sight as the previous Consultant had run out of ideas and my issue was/is a complex, sight threatening one. By the time I met him I had lost a significant amount of sight. His vast knowledge, experience and professionalism allows him to think out the box and in so doing he has not only put but kept my condition in remission and I have regained all sight. His manner, social intelligence and humour are second to none and that has meant that I have fully engaged in my treatment plan and trust him implicitly. Wish more Consultants were blessed with this manner. Most recently I chose him to perform cataract surgery despite my insurance company suggesting I use someone from their network and so pleased I did as, again, another fabulous outcome. I have recommended his services to friends and will continue to do so. In saving my sight, he changed my life so for me there only is one eye guy!

Our daughter has been seeing Professor Ayliffe since mid 2014 which should speak for itself.

Felt very comfortable and assured before the procedure, and very reassured about the outcome of the procedure the next day. Whole experience was brilliant, and much better than anticipated!

Been seeing Professor Ayliffe for a number of years in different locations and always found him to be professional and courteous. He only recommends services that will improve or stabilise my eyesight. He also communicates with my Optician to keep him informed of any treatments etc.
