Mr Hickley should have been on paternity leave on the day of my operation but he was asked to come in to cover sick leave, if he had not done this my operation may have been postponed. Therefore, I found Mr Hickley to be a dedicated and caring professional surgeon. On the day of my operation Mr Hickley listened to my concerns regarding having stitches in my face along with the reasons why I was worried, he then calmly reassured me that this would not happen as the stitches are very small and he would make the incision along the top of my eyebrow so it would be less visible once healed. The surgery he performed has made a big different to my quality of life, my vision has improved because my eyelid has lifted and the unexpected nice surprise is that I can now breath through my right nostril, something that I've not been able to do for many years due to the nerve damage. When I went for my check up after the operation Mr Hickley informed me that other operations may help to further improve my vision and quality of life. I was pleased to hear this and would be happy for Mr Hickley to carry out operations as I have no concerns about his knowledge and skills as a surgeon. I would definitely recommend Mr Hickley.
