My experience in have a hip replacement was excellent from the first time I met Dr Mudussar the time I was in the hospital also the after care I received could not fault a thing. I was quite frightened when I found out that I needed a operation but Dr Mudussar made me feel at ease he was very caring.

I met Dr. Ahmad through a referral from my hematologist because I was having severe avascular necrosis of the left hip, which I had lived with for nineteen years, and had started significantly affecting my day-to-day activities to the extent that I couldn't go out when needed or even sleep well due to excessive pain. Pre-surgery, Dr. Ahmad took his time to explain the surgery process to me before fixing a date and kept on asking me if I understood what he was saying and if I had any questions to ask him concerning the surgery. Dr Ahmad and his team made me feel I was in safe hands before the surgery, and that made me hopeful the surgery would be a success in spite of sickle cell. And the surgery was indeed a success. And post-surgery, I was promptly attended to if I had any complaints. He made sure the surgery site was well looked after until it healed up, and I was able to walk pain-free. Overall, I am glad I did the surgery, and I am thankful to Mr Ahmad and his team for a job well done.

Friendly accessible and explained things. Not phased by having dr patients! Follow up provided on phone, and in person and future appointment for review at 5/12 which I think represents his wish to evaluate his own longer term performance (ie value beyond me being okay) as much as I had an NHS hip replacement, for which I reluctantly, as someone with no long term conditions, chose the local private hospital as the waiting list was so long in overworked underresourced NHS hospital. The op was done very promptly. I had a spinal anaesthetic and was able to feel relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. The wound healed without infection and now at 5/12 weeks, I've been walking without sticks for some weeks, including back from physio.

Mr Ahmad was professional and made me feel reassured about the procedure. I found him to be reliable and efficient in his practice.

Having been in agony with knee pain for many years, I was delighted when Mr Mudussar Ahmad accepted me for complex knee replacement surgery. I have a high body mass index and had already been refused to be seen in a local private hospital. From our first meeting. Mr Ahmad was reassuring, professional and friendly explaining everything in a clear and understandable manner so I knew the potential difficulties of the post-surgery recovery. Mr Ahmad instilled confidence as a caring and kind professional with an understanding of the pain I was in. Post surgery, Mr Ahmad came again to talk to me in a calm and kind manner though he had been in theatre all day. The surgical scar is very neat and tidy. I’m delighted to say my recovery has been steady and without any complications. I’m committed to continue to exercise and walk and everyday is an improvement. I will be forever grateful for the belief Mr Ahmad had in me though I had a high BMI. I would recommend this surgeon for his professional and personable approach. I also wouldn’t hesitate to say that any new medic could learn a lot from him. I will be returning at some stage to have my other knee attended to and will wait for Mr Ahmad to be available.

My care under Mr Ahmad was second to none! From my call from the Admissions Team and Pre-assessment Team, everything went so smoothly. My stay on Japonica Ward at KGH was a great experience, the staff were very obliging and caring and nothing was too much trouble. As I was last on the Theatre list for the day I was fearful that my surgery would not go ahead but I'm sure Mr Ahmad and his Team stayed later in order not to cancel me. I didn't know about the COPE Team (Community Orthopaedic & Physiotherapy for Essex) who came to visit me in my home every few days to dress my wound and show me physio. The nurses kept in contact with Mr Ahmad via phone calls and email all the time and he was kept up to date on my progress. I had no problems post surgery and I now have no pain and can walk normally after 4.5 months. In fact I went back to work after 10 weeks as I felt very fit and well. I cannot thank Mr Ahmad and his Team enough for getting my life back on track.
