I had some issues with my eyes and was referred to Elizabeth Hawkes at the Benenden hospital. From the very first appointment I was reassured that I had made the perfect choice of surgeon. Ms Hawkes was caring, understanding and extremely professional. She explained everything in a way that is easily understood. As part of my treatment I had a blepharoplasty upper eyelid lift and I am overwhelmed of how much difference it has made. My eyes have opened up and I have a fresher look. I didn’t tell many people, but I get a lot of comments now of how “well I look”. I am really impressed with the results. Surgery was as I expected, as everything was explained beforehand by Ms Hawkes. I was swollen and bruised for a bit after but the one thing that did surprised me was there was NO after pain. In my head I was sure there would be so prepared well with painkillers at the ready, but didn’t need to take any. A week or so after I went back to have the stitches out, again all relatively simple. I am now 5 weeks post op and the scars are virtually invisible, hidden in the natural crease of my eyes. If you are thinking of this procedure, then I would definitely recommend it and without doubt recommend Elizabeth Hawkes to do the surgery.

After a number of years researching on upper eyelid blepharoplasty and multiple consultations, I decided to go ahead with the surgery with Dr Elizabeth Hawkes. My eyelids have became heavy due to age and lack of sleep so I had a constant tired look that no expensive cosmetic treatments throughout the years could get rid of. I was not after anything too drastic but I wanted to look more refreshed and get my almond shaped eyes back. Dr Hawkes is very approachable and thorough, she put me at ease with realistic expectations and having seen her previous work and background, I booked myself in for surgery the week after seeing her. It's been only 9 days in but I have not had any discomfort and as the swelling goes down, I can already see her subtle yet effective work.
