“Before my procedure in 2019 I was in continual pain from arthritis in my ankle. Since then I have been able to go on long walks, play football with my grandchildren and have returned to work part time as a carpenter, which is a strenuous job and I am pain free. As this is a reasonably new procedure, Mr Ajis sees me annually to check on my mobility and he is really pleased that I’m doing so well. I’m 77 but this operation has given me a new lease of life, and I can’t thank Mr Ajis enough“

    About

Mr Adam Ajis is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon Specialising in foot and ankle disorders. He has clinics in Chichester, Worthing, and Brighton.

He helps patients with foot deformities such as bunions, hammer toes, foot arthritis, ankle arthritis, and ankle instability. If a patient requires surgery, he can carry out minimally invasive treatments as well as non-surgical procedures such as injections or shockwave therapy.

He has helped thousands of people over the years with good results And is able to offer patients an opinion on whether surgery might help their foot or ankle condition or non-surgical treatment options are suitable.

Mr Ajis understands that time spent recovering from an operation can disrupt a person’s work and life and therefore offers minimally invasive solutions where possible which means a faster recovery time and a quicker return to normal. He has also carried out hundreds of surgeries to correct large deformities and procedures to help foot and ankle arthritis.

Mr Ajis undertook advanced training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in Cheshire/Merseyside and earned a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons FRCS (Tr & Orth).  During this time, he developed an interest in foot and ankle surgery and gained a place on one of the most prestigious and highly rated international foot and ankle training fellowships at the Institute for Foot & Ankle Reconstruction in the United States.  He then completed a further fellowship under one of the most experienced foot and ankle surgeons in the UK. Dual fellowship training has given Mr Ajis expertise in the latest treatments available and he is experienced in a number of areas including:

    • complex foot & ankle reconstruction surgery
    • ankle replacement surgery

I can highly recommend Mr Adam Ajis. From the initial appointment - where we discussed treatment for my bunion & correction of two of my toes - right through surgery and post op care, Mr Ajis has been excellent. I felt that Mr Ajis had good experience in this field and I had faith in his ability to help me achieve my aim of walking without pain. Mr Ajis showed kindness and care throughout, which I appreciated very much. The operation was a success and 4 months on from this I am so happy to be walking without pain.

After having mixed messages about whether I needed surgery for my broken ankle Mr Ajis was a breath of fresh air! He was attentive and took the time to explain the situation, clearly laid out my options and managed to efficiently organise his schedule to fit me in quickly. Just from the first meeting I felt confident of the outcome and much less apprehensive about the whole ordeal.

Mr Ajis was so welcoming from the beginning of my journey. Any questions I had we dealt with in such a patient friendly manner and reassurance was offer whenever I needed it. It was such a relaxing experience for all my appointment and everything was so well organised. His PA, Emily, has been so helpful with emails regarding appointments, or any questions I had forgotten to ask during appointments or after my surgery. Post operative care was explained to me and I always had support when I needed it. I had bunion surgery performed by Mr Ajis and I would recommend him and his team to anyone who is looking to have a similar surgery. So professional, kind and knowledgeable in all areas of the foot. To top it all off we both have a huge interest in Formula 1, so our appointments were filled with a catch up on the latest news with that also.

I was dreading having surgery for my painful bunion. I found Mr Ajis through recommendations on his website. From initial consultation, through to the completion of the operation and the follow up as my feet healed, I found the whole process amazing. The surgery has been very successful and I cannot recommend Mr Ajis enough.

From the moment I met Mr Ajis, after a long and difficult time with a non-healing fractured ankle, I knew I was in the very best hands. From the initial diagnosis through scans, complex surgery, post-operative care and now sign-off but not dismissal, support and help with the beginning of rehab Mr Ajis has been outstanding. I cannot thank him enough nor speak more highly of him. A wonderful surgeon and brilliant consultant.

I had two unrelated foot operations performed by Mr Ajis. Both surgeries were successful, and I found Mr Ajis to be an excellent surgeon. He also explained in depth the procedures, and outcomes. I would highly recommend Mr Ajis for any surgery in his respective field, and I thank him for his expert services.
