He explained in detail the procedure and potential associated risks in a way that was reassuring and easy to understand . Mr Millington was very professional each time I saw him. He explained the X-rays and options very clearly. On the day of surgery he explained the procedure and post operative care I would receive, and came to see me after the surgery and explained how the procedure went. Mr Millington is a knowledge and understanding doctor, with amazing bed side manner. Clearly goes though every detail of what he plans to do during surgery and will ask if you have any questions or require anything to be re-explained. He gives ample time to his patients and makes sure they are happy and fully informed of every detail.

Having heard stories of doom and gloom about knee replacement, I would like to tell you about my experience. Mr Millington was knowledgeable, decisive and reassuring about my procedure. I could have elected to leave hospital the day after the procedure, but chose to stay two. When I woke up from the operation I was immediately able to walk to the bathroom without any pain. I was given and advised to take 500 mg of Paracetemol every 4 hours, but after the first dose, I explored whether I would need them - and didn't! On returning home the next day, I went for a half mile walk using crutches. The worst part of the whole procedure was the compression stockings. It is essntial that you do all the physio, and after 4 weeks I was back driving again. So I would certainly recommend Mr Millington. By the way my operation cost less than £10,000, so for those who are waiting for an op on the NHS, you may wish to consider whether your mobility comes first or the gratitude of your grand children who will never appreciate your sacrifice.
