From my first consultation to my discharge with Mr Oakley for a knee replacement i was treated very well, everything was explained about the procedure, the operation went well and i am completely pain free. Looking forward to having other knee replaced this year Thank you

Very disturbing to wake during my op, and hee sawing and banging
Thank you for taking the time to post this review. I am delighted that the outcome from your surgery was good. Modern anaesthetics as designed to reduce the nausea and pain felt by patients in the post op period compared with old “general anaesthetics” A large part of this is to use a spinal(epidural) injection that takes all the pain away. The patient is then usually given a drug to relax them and make them sleepy. Most patients are conscious though part of the operation but the vast majority are happy and quite a few say it was enjoyable! However, I am very sorry that you did not like the noise, if you require surgery in the future we can take this into account and adjust the techniques.

Mr Oakley agreed to undertake my knee replacement surgery at short notice when another surgeon was unable to carry out the operation. In retrospect I am glad that was how things turned out as Mr Oakley was very calm, explained things carefully and was obviously very confident in his ability which gave me confidence as well. The outcome of the surgery has exceeded my expectations. It is now six months since it was carried out and I am able to take long and quite challenging walks which was one of my main objectives and something I haven't been able to do for probably the last two years.

Mr Oakley was friendly, reassuring, pleasant, humerous. He explained the procedure (which is naturally a cause of some apprehension) very effectively and (as far as I know) covered all of the potential pitfalls in a complate and positive way. The opertaion itself went without a hitch and subsequent check-ups were handled competently and afficiently.

Mr Oakley operated on my knee in 2019 and on my hip last year(2022)...on both occasions he put me at my ease and explained everything before, and was very caring. Both ops were very successful and I couldn't recommend him more highly. A friend of mine has just had their knee replaced and would agree with everything I have said! Too man.

I think my rating of 5 stars for my experience with Mr Oakley says it all. My knee replacement was was a very straightforward and relatively pain free experience for which I will always be grateful. A delightful man and a very skilful surgeon.
