I was impressed by Mr. Oakley's expertise and professionalism when he carried out my hip replacement and recently when he arranged an appointment to check on my progress. He always gave me plenty of time to ask questions and understand the medical procedures. His manner was courteous, friendly and understanding. I have complete confidence in his diagnosis and the ability of his surgical team and am grateful for the high standard of medical care I have received.

Mr Oakley is a very caring man who always listens to all your concerns and puts your fears and worry to rest. He is a mirical worker and takes your pain away. I really hope that he will be able to work his same miracle on my second knee.

From consultation to operation was extremely very good. Pain and recovery post operation was minimal.
Thank you for taking time to reply. I am delighted we were able to help and the modern recovery techniques have reduced the pain following surgery.

Very disturbing to wake during my op, and hee sawing and banging
Thank you for taking the time to post this review. I am delighted that the outcome from your surgery was good. Modern anaesthetics as designed to reduce the nausea and pain felt by patients in the post op period compared with old “general anaesthetics” A large part of this is to use a spinal(epidural) injection that takes all the pain away. The patient is then usually given a drug to relax them and make them sleepy. Most patients are conscious though part of the operation but the vast majority are happy and quite a few say it was enjoyable! However, I am very sorry that you did not like the noise, if you require surgery in the future we can take this into account and adjust the techniques.

Mr Oakley agreed to undertake my knee replacement surgery at short notice when another surgeon was unable to carry out the operation. In retrospect I am glad that was how things turned out as Mr Oakley was very calm, explained things carefully and was obviously very confident in his ability which gave me confidence as well. The outcome of the surgery has exceeded my expectations. It is now six months since it was carried out and I am able to take long and quite challenging walks which was one of my main objectives and something I haven't been able to do for probably the last two years.
Thank you for taking time to review me. I am delighted our paths crossed and I was able to help restore your activities. Best wishes Matthew
