Mr Nicopoullos is a great fertility Consultant. He was thorough and tried different approaches and tests throughout our cycles. He was open minded to the new studies in the area, which made us feel we were trying everything we could to achieve a positive outcome. I would definitely recommend him to others.

As soon as we met with James, we felt we were in safe hands and we left our consultation confident in his expertise. I have known Dr Nicopoullos for 18 months while under going IVF. From the first time we met him at an open evening my husband and myself were both very impressed by his knowledge and amazing personal manner which when you are going through IVF you very much need in a doctor. We were undecided between two clinics and it was after meeting Dr Nicopoullos and realising his wide area of expertise that we then decided on the Lister Clinic. Dr Nicopoullos was always very patient (even when I had many many questions) and had all the time in the world. He was always very optimistic even when we had failed rounds and we questioned whether we could carry on. It was very important to us that we had a doctor behind us who had faith that what we were putting ourselves through wasn't for nothing and we're so pleased we listened to him as I am now 16 weeks pregnant! It was a team effort of people in the end but we know that without Dr Nicopoullos's important help along it's unlikely we would be where we are today.

I don't think I could have had a better doctor. From his friendly manner, clear but thorough explanations, and eternal patience with all my questions (there were loads) I always came away from emails / call / meetings feeling listened to, clearer and calmer which was hugely helpful because IVF can make you feel at sea. I would recommend him and the whole team to anyone. He was also very honest and managed our expectations / gave us a realistic view so we knew where we stood. He also often went out of his way to see if I was ok when I had some rocky moments and it is things like that which make such a difference.

Mr Nicopoullos is one of the most understanding doctors we’ve met. Our situation was not straightforward and he really understood the emotional, physical and financial strain we were under and did his absolute best to help us. His approach is very honest; he is forward thinking enough to try novel technology but always upfront about the evidence for them (or lack of) and his own feelings about it, taking into account the financial cost too. I felt he was always “on our side” and fought hard for us.

Due to covid-19 I did not have a chance to meet face to face with James however over our zoom meetings was very happy with the contact. He took time to answer questions he probably spends all day every day answering but still made each question feel as important as the next and helped to explain things that we didn’t understand.
