I interviewed and surveyed multiple clinics in London when I first decided to go forward with egg freezing. I used a point based system using the specific criteria/requirements I was looking for to literally rank the clinics in preference order. However, I ended up disregarding my entire checklist as soon as I met Dr. James for my initial consultation at Lister. I immediately felt I was in safe hands, such a humble, transparent and warm person. Most of the clinics in London felt commercial, and most medical directors I met were showing off their success rates, number of procedures they performed daily, and some belittled the actual procedure of egg freezing making my case seem "basic/boring" which can often provoke the patient. Dr. James had a very personal approach in exemplifying his knowledge and it almost felt like each patient of his received their own customised treatment. I emailed him on weekends with random questions that were not necessarily related to my case, and he was always so prompt in responding back to me. We came to the Lister for a frozen embryo transfer cycle after multiple failed cycles at other clinics. After consultations with our previous clinic (not in London) and another London clinic, we organised one at the Lister. As both a patient and also a medic, Mr Nicopoullos provided what we felt was the best assessment of our situation and the way forward. He did so in a positive and really friendly and personable manner. I had many questions as both a simulated cycle and then the FET cycle proceeded and via direct email contact was always prompt and responsive to my queries. The communication with the team was clearly excellent also as the nurses always understood what was happening for my treatment. Mr Nicopoullos then undertook the embryo transfer. We were fortunate enough that the cycle worked and we now have an amazing daughter.

Dr. Nicopoullos is strightforward, compassionate, non-judgemental and incredibly balanced in dealing with difficult situations. You feel safe and educated when talking with him about you and your options.

James is responsive, insightful, caring and dependable. We met with him after several rounds of failed IVF at another clinic. James talked through the various options for us and after one round with one of the Lister’s partner clinics in Spain we fell pregnant with twins. We are forever thankful to James Lister clinic for helping us complete our family. He also supported me with some follow up questions during my pregnancy. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
