Friendly and professional at all times and kept me informed as to the procedure and what to expect. The operation was smooth without any issues and the scar I was left with was small and neat . I would recommend Mr Biring to friends and family

Mr Biring inspired me with confidence, through his expert insight, thorough explanation of my condition, the procedure, the expected outcome & his ongoing attention & support. His lovely sense of humour was an added bonus. He visited me pre-op, with explanations & answering questions that I had; then post-op he was suitably attentive, but didn't make me feel like I was being too closely monitored When I had a minor concern during the first few days at home, the ward spoke to him following my query & he asked to see me that evening, to check I was ok & reassure me. Overall Mr Biring's calm demeanour, knowledge, experience & expertise reassured me that I was in good hands. I continue to recover successfully & am delighted with the outcome of my surgery & my tiny incision

Explanation

Knee replacement operation was not as painful as had been expecting. Felt more unwell from the anesthetic and taking painkillers than from the actual knee which feels somewhat strange even now (8 weeks later) but I am able to walk a mile or two without aids and mostly without pain. I felt the hydrotherapy pool provided an excellent start to exercising and intend to keep up physiotherapy for as long as possible. Mr Biring was excellent - very attentive, calling into the hospital every day to ascertain my progress. I was also very impressed with the Anesthetist, as I was somewhat concerned about the anesthetic, but he was very reassuring.

The surgery and treatment I received from Mr Biring was more than excellent as well as all the care from the staff at the Chiltern Hospital. It is just 2 months since my surgery and I am recovering well. I am so grateful to this brilliant surgeon.

Mr Biring provided very clear explanations of the procedure, making sure that I understood and accepted all that was being proposed. He also explained the potential side effects, despite the fact they were minimal, and what best to do to minimise these. He followed up frequently after the operation, again providing clear explanations and checking on my progress and understanding of what came next.

Mr Biring set me at my ease and explained exactly what needed to be done. He visited me in my room just before the operation to see whether I had any problems or questions and also on the morning after the evening surgery he visited, said everything had gone well and asked how I felt. I would certainly recommend him to any of my acquaintances who might need a hip operation.

Explanation

I first met Mr Biring at my initial consultation. He explained everything in a way that I could understand. He was understanding of my needs regarding the time limit that I had. He saw me just before my operation and put me at my ease immediately. After my operation he came to see me and explained how everything had gone. I had a problem after I had left hospital and I saw him early the next day. Again he was very reassuringly. At my 6 week post op appointment he was very pleased with my progress. I have no hesitation in recommending him.
