Explanation

I had a satisfactory medical appointment with Dr. Graham-Lawton but encountered significant issues during the billing process and with staff communication. Despite having an agreement on fees, I was billed at a much higher rate, not covered by my insurance due to the discrepancy. Efforts to resolve this were met with unprofessional responses, including a concerning threat to share my personal details over the disputed charge. Persistent communication eventually led to the acknowledgment of their mistake, but regrettably too late for insurance claims, adversely affecting my financial situation. Furthermore, my requests to submit formal feedback were denied, and I was incorrectly informed that the Doctor does not use Doctify, which contradicted my findings. This experience has unfortunately led me to question the practice's integrity, especially regarding its billing practices, staff professionalism, and transparency in patient feedback

Explanation

From the moment I first met Mr Lawton, he had made a great impression. This was originally over a Zoom consultation. He was very down to earth and explained the procedure I needed to have done extremely well so that I could understand. He was friendly and I already felt trust. I wa ms admitted to hospital the night before my procedure and he came to see me later that evening which I found lovely and reassuring. He once again explained my procedure and wished me luck. I was in hospital for four weeks after such major surgery. I’d say on most days Mr Lawton popped in to see me to check how I was doing. We got on very well and I always looked forward to the visits as he is a very upbeat and amusing person and you need that at times like that where you have no family or friends allowed to visit you. I can’t express enough how highly I rate Mr Lawton.

Explanation

In July 2020 I was involved in a cycling accident and I sustained a severe multi-planar de-gloving injury to my leg. I was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s hospital, at the time I didn’t really know what was happening but I knew that my leg was in very bad shape. Mr. Lawton became involved with the reconstruction of my leg at an early stage, shortly after my arrival at the hospital he proposed a course of treatment and talked me through the complex procedures that would be required to rebuild my leg. He described the potential risks associated with the surgeries, set realistic expectations of the outcome, and answered any questions I had (of which there were many!) The surgeries needed to fix my leg were complex, and before each procedure Mr. Lawton fully explained what was going to happen in the operating theatre and what I could expect after surgery. Mr Lawton has been incredibly kind and reassuring throughout the process, he inspired confidence when I felt very overwhelmed and always took the time to listen and advise. It is purely down to his expertise and skill as a surgeon that I have been able to recover the mobility of my leg. Due to the severity of the injuries from the accident I have some scars on my leg but they are neat and minimal. I feel very fortunate to have received such outstanding care from Mr Lawton and the team at St. Mary’s.
