Not only is Declan Cahill a world class surgeon but he is a kind and humorous man that helps put patients at ease when facing a daunting diagnosis. He listens to and genuinely cares about his patient’s outcomes. I had researched surgeons for robotic prostatectomies extensively and having reviewed many, I had no doubt that Declan is the best and therefore I elected to go with him. After the surgery I was surprised how quickly I was back to normal. I had no pain after surgery despite not having had an epidural. I managed on paracetamol. I found the entire procedure to be much easier than I expected. His online videos with previous patients and their experiences are also very helpful. Also important to mention as a patient you are getting Declan’s entire support team who are all excellent and a special mention to Netty Kinsella who performed my biopsy with great expertise. They fill you with the confidence that you will be given exceptional care. You are in good hands with Declan, I can’t recommend him highly enough

Mr Cahill was direct and to the point. In a nice way. He answered all my questions in a straight and honest way. He got me or should I say us as soon as we walked into the room on our first consultation. Could not be more happy or grateful to Mr Cahill and his team for what they did for me and my family. Declan was great at explaining what was going to happen, and very responsive to any queries both before and after the op. His skill as a surgeon is second to none, I made a very rapid recovery after the operation with minimal ongoing issues.

Declan had been recommended to me by a relative & I'm so pleased he was my surgeon. His manner is excellent & I felt very reassured & in the best possible hands. Cancer is not nice but if you have prostate cancer & you are lucky enough to be under Declan then you are in the best possible position for your situation. I had my prostate removed & 1 set of nerves also. I was continent straight after catheter removal. That is amazing & I'm so grateful for that. I managed to resume sexual relations with my girlfriend 1 month post operation, all be it with occasional difficulties as expected. I am confident that things will keep on improving. The cancer was removed & my 6 week PSA was almost undetectable. I'm extremely grateful I was under Declan's help through this & would strongly recommend him. Declan immediately puts you at ease as soon as you meet him, he explains everything, is relaxed and yet reassuring, and also very understanding. He is actively looking to help with the recovery and other knock on / existing health issues where possible.
