Very experienced, approachable knowledgable and excellent surgeon I felt my concerns were addressed and I was put at ease

I had absolute confidence in undergoing this procedure with Mr Houlihan-Burne. From the initial consultation and then, on the day, the explanation of what would be happening to the after op appointment. No question was too much and he would always answer any of my email questions as I approached the op.

Highly professional and great outcome for me. Can now do just about anything with my new knee!

Great person and surgeon

I have had total knee replacements on both my knees carried out by Mr Houlihan-Burne. He is an excellent surgeon and explains every step of the way, he is very approachable and explains everything really well, he is calm and his bedside manner is fabulous, pre and post op. He carries out state of the art techniques, using robotics and nerve blocks which aid recovery, and has an excellent team to support him, I had both my operations carried out at the Cromwell. His secretary Jessica is also very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Mr Houlihan-Burne and have been extremely impressed by him, his knowledge, kindness and professionalism. You will be in safe hands. He also really cares about you the patient and your recovery.

From the first appointment Mr HB was informative, clear, friendly and professional. Whenever I had a query it was quickly answered and a great deal of help was given when I had issues with my health insurance provider. The op went well and after care was superb with direct access to Mr HB by mobile when it was needed. Knees have never felt better and I am able to stand walk sit without any pain and have been from a matter of weeks after the op.

What I really liked about David Houliban Byrne is that he replied immediately to any concern I raised by email which I found very reassuring and his positive manner. This was particularly important as this was the first surgical operation I had experienced
