I am very pleased to recommend Mr Houlihan-Burne following my recent partial knee replacement and indeed if there were 10 stars I would click them all. In the first place his skill as a surgeon is excellent I was walking without crutches or stick 5 days after surgery and my knee is very mobile and I am delighted with the progress. The scar is very neat and I am undertaking my normal activities. My physiotherapist agrees that I am doing extremely well. I am 79 years of age.

Mr H-B carried out an extremely successful replacement of half of my left knee joint. It was done six months ago and I can now easily walk for 30 minutes per day without ill effect, and the knee is continuing to improve. He and his most efficient secretary arranged and carried out the whole process very effectively and in a very friendly manner. I shall certainly approach Mr H-B again should my other knee need replacement or if I need any other surgery which is in his field.

My experience with Mr David Houlihan-Burne is that he is kind, caring, funny, informative and very reassuring. I was extremely scared, terrified really, and he was immensely patient and empathetic which enabled me to feel less panicky and actually look forward to the operation. He answered endless questions, making me feel empowered and positive about my decision. Although these operations are normal to him, he appreciates they are huge to us, the patients and he never underestimated my fears or concerns but met them with calm, straight and informative answers.

I have found Mr Houlihan-Burne to be excellent in all respects, which is perhaps more significant as this is my second knee replacement. I had a very good experience with the other one where the consultant no longer does knee replacements. - I found his explanation of the robotic technique to be very helpful, especially with the very bad state of my knee (and I recommend his video). - The whole setting up of, and passage through, the procedure was very smooth, with helpful and appropriate discussion and feedback. - The follow up was both informative and, fortunately, reassuring. All very good indeed.
