Dr Holton is the most caring, sensitive committed and passionate professional I have ever met in the NHS. I can’t thank him enough for the thought and care he put into my treatment plan. I feel extremely luckily to have benefited from his expertise in the field of young hip replacement and my life has been totally changed for the better since he operated on me. Dr Holton conducted a total hip replacement of my left hip. From the initial consultation Dr Holton was excellent, he is approachable and friendly, he explained my condition in detail, showing me X-rays and discussing my options. Post operation, Dr Holton took time out to visit me and assure me the operation had gone as expected, I found this rather comforting. I am due to have a total hip replacement of the right hip and would not hesitate to proceed if Dr Holton was conducting this procedure. I would highly recommend Dr Holton, in my opinion he is excellent and an expert in Orthopaedic Surgery.

After years of pain with osteoarthritis which was no longer managed by physio and analgesics I saw Colin Holton. At the time I had days where walking to the end of the garden was so painful I could cry. We discussed surgery and together made the decision for a hip replacement. The procedure was carried out and with an overnight stay was discharged the following day. Overnight the arthritic pain had gone! I have the shortest, neatest scar, less that 15 cm (6 inches) hidden usually with either panties or bikini bottom/swimsuit. With good pre and post op physio and exercise I was able to walk without pain, without the aid of crutches or stick within 6 weeks. A year on I am now able to carry out all activities without pain, with good flexibility and range of movement. Mr Holton, explained the procedure thoroughly including any possible dangers to having this surgery. He was extremely patient with my many questions and happy to answer any questions that arose at a later time that came to me after the consultation. Completely professional, approachable and empathetic. This man and his expertise has given me my life back, at 62 years of age I feel better and more active than in my 40s. Mr Holton has genuinely transformed my retirement and I cannot thank or praise him enough.
