From start to finish I felt very comfortable and had every faith in Me Gambhir. He was pleasant, calm and I knew I would be in safe hands. When the day of the operation came I was calm as he and his team were fabulous and made me feel relaxed. I hope if I have to have any other joint replacements that I would be able to have him and his team again. The operation has been a success and it is thanks to him. I would also like to say a big thank you to his private secretary Angela who was so caring and went out of her way to help on many occasions and felt like a friend.

I had confidence in Mr Gambhir from our first meeting. I felt we were in a partnership working together. He explained the Direct Anterior Approach to me and the process involved. He also suggested watching the procedure on video which I found informative and helpful to know just what was involved. I had continuous access to Mr Gambhir (through his excellent Private Patient Manager Angela Webster) both prior to and post operation. This was very reassuring to me. Mr Gambhir found time to visit me very day whilst I was in hospital to discuss my progress with me. He comes across to me as very approachable and interested in you as a person. I consider myself fortunate to have had Mr Gambhir perform the operation.

Dr Gambhir took the time to review my case, he explained clearly the results to me following the MRI Scan and indeed told me the risks and benefits of having the surgery and I felt he had indeed my wellbeing at the forefront of his mind. On the day of my surgery he took the time to visit me before the surgery to see how I was feeling and put me at ease, very professional, thank you

Explanation

I went to see Mr Gambhir following an unsuccessful knee replacement carried out some 16 months earlier by another surgeon. At the time I saw him I could not walk very far or stand for any length of time and I could not bend down at all without the knee trying to dislocate. Mr Gambhir carried out a revision of my left knee which was a complete success. I am now doing 3 pool-based exercise classes per week. I can walk, stand and bend down without any difficulty. Now, after 5 years of having to use a walking stick I can finally walk without one. In short, Mr Gambhir has given me my life back. I would absolutely recommend him.

Explanation

A total hip replacement which is classed as a major operation can cause great anxiety to many patients including myself.Thats why i researched to find a surgeon with all the right attributes to undertake this work. One name stood out that convinced me to make an initial appointment with Mr Gambiar at Writington hospital. From the first moment we met i felt totally at ease with his approach and diagnosis. Great care was give to explain the best way forward and all possible outcomes including any negative impact and risks the operation may hold It was agreed with the anethetist that a block was the safest way to proceed. All this gave me reassurance and confidence moving forward. The operation went without a hitch with we up and taking my first tentative steps within twenty four hours The district nurse stated it was the cleanest wound she had seen for a long time. An orthopedic surgeon friend in California also confirms my findingsTo date I would and indeed and still make excellent progress which will greatly enhance my life. For this i will always be grateful to Mr Anil gambhir
