I approached Alex for a consultation as I was experiencing lower leg pains when walking with a suspected diagnosis of intermittent claudication and a NHS hospital appointment scheduled for 3 months ahead. I was able to book an appointment within a few days. Alex was very approachable with a straightforward and friendly manner. Alex listened to my concerns and caried out a quick but thorough examination and confirmed the diagnosis and explained the issues very clearly. He recommended a change of one of my medications and joining an exercise class.

I was seen very quickly after arriving at the hospital. Mr Watson explained things easily and after an ultra sound on my leg explained what treatment was right for me. I would highly recommend Mr Watson to any body else who needs a Vasculiar surgeon. I will wait till the Autum and then have the treatment he recomended see you soon Mr Watson regards Barbara M

I had a chronic necrotic leg wound that was not responding to various topical treatments directed by Tissue Viability and then the Leg Ulcer Service. The area of dead tissue appeared to be enlarging and was naturally causing me more than a little concern. Although the NHS nursing staff were caring and dedicated it was obvious to both them and myself that no progress was being made and yet at no time was I examined by a doctor in person. So nearly two months after the accident I decided to seek private medical advice. Within 4 days of my initial call I was shaking hands with Mr. Alexander Watson and was immediately impressed by his concern and the friendly manner that put me entirely at my ease. Another 20mins and the 'initial consultation' was upgraded to a 'minor op' where all the dead tissue was removed with amazing professional competence while keeping me completely reassured. And all done with no significant physical discomfort whatsoever ! My Practice Nurse not only admired his surgical skills but was also impressed by the standard of the dressings he'd applied. My thanks could not be more sincere.

His explanation was easily understood and not couched in medical jargon

Dr Watson was brilliant, I had a varicose vein removed on my ankle/leg. The procedure was so much better than I had anticipated as I’m not too keen on veins and was anxious about the removing part in general. Dr Watson and the fantastic nurse made me feel so at ease and comfortable. The whole process was really easy, I would recommend 100%.

I was very impressed that Mr Watson was able to see me at such short notice. He listened to me with compassion and examined me thoroughly. He explained in depth the diagnosis and have me an opportunity to ask any questions afterwards, or by email, if I needed to ask any other questions after the appointment. I was thoroughly impressed with the experience from start to finish and the bedside manner Mr Watson had. I felt very confident in his knowledge, and the final diagnosis. Thank you very much for seeing me at such short notice.

Dr Watson is so concise with his explanation, and took plenty of time to talk me through what was happening. He was calming and very patient throughout! Thank you

Having had many consultation appointments in the last year I can say that this was one of the best. I found Mr Watson to be extremely approachable, very knowledgeable and accommodating of a slightly nervous patient when it comes to veins. I highly recommend Mr Watson and would feel very at ease should I have to go to him for any further procedures. Thank you so much
