Exceptional surgeon, at the top of his profession. Approachable, clearly an expert in his field and most importantly the ability to communicate effectively. From the first (zoom) meeting, Mr Ahmed was able to assure me that this procedure was the best option for me. All options were discussed at length, with complex medical concerns over the sleeve procedure put to rest. During the hospital stay, nerves were settled and after care was excellent. The results? Well after only a week, i have had no serious side effects - a sign of an excellent surgeon. I can’t recommend Mr Ahmed Ahmed enough. Simply the personification of a true surgeon - highly skilled, compassionate and truly reassuring.

Life changing procedure done by a fantastic specialist. First of all, I had the surgery done in January 2021 but waited 5 months (June 2021 at the time of writing this review) with writing the review to ensure it has completely worked. Prior to Linx I suffered with acid reflux for over a decade, was on Omeprazole and other anti acids. The surgery changed everything and I can confidently say I have zero acid reflux and side effects. The surgery and the consultations prior were very efficient, couple of visits and we established the best course of action. Dr Ahmed wasn’t insisting on any particular type of procedure but rather assisted with guiding me through different types. Deciding that Linx is the best way to move forward as I didn’t want to carry on taking tablets and Nissen fundoplication can be a hit or miss. To ensure I could qualify I had to do a pH test and manometry. This checks if your sphinter muscles are strong enough to cope with Linx. Initially didn’t show good results but again with Dr Ahmed’s help I was put on some antibiotics to help strengthen the muscle. This indeed worked and I was cleared for the operation. Surgery and the hospital stay were great, I was at Bupa Cromwell overnight. Surgery took a couple hours and I was discharged the next day in the morning. As this was keyhole surgery I didn’t have large wounds and was able to recover quickly. The process of coming back to normal eating took over a month and I was gradually able to eat the things I ate before. There were some side effects such as food sticking and aesophageal spasms but it was explained by Dr Ahmed pre surgery. Now, 5 months later I can enjoy the food, glass of wine etc without worrying about reflux. I 100% recommend Linx anti reflux procedure and Dr Ahmed & his team. What is more impressive is all this was done within 4 months of first consultation! Thank you for reading, hopefully you found it helpful.
