Iam now pain free... he explained everything to me in plain English not in big words ..I had a partial knee replacement and would glady use Mr platt again if my other knee needs doing

Open to questions - good explanations & illustrations candid prognosis reassurance to concerns that are addressable and humorous where appropriate - he also spent time with my wife to reassure her about aspects of the process she found very reassuring - good follow up too

All my dealings with Mr Platt have been extremely positive, indeed I developed the utmost confidence in his abilities, which is rather helpful when committing to a surgical procedure. That is not to say that he doesn't clearly state the dangers associated with this type of surgery. The operation, a full knee replacement, was carried out under an epidural and was completed successfully. Once I was back in the hospital ward, Mr Platt came to see me and he patiently explained that the operation had gone well, he was pleased with the outcome. We discussed anticipated recovery times and Mr Platt was always positive in his advice, allowing me to ask questions. He explained the importance of a disciplined rehabilitation program, particularly over the next 6 to 12 weeks, the short to mid-term goals discussed were very useful as a guide to motivate me in this process. I am now capable of walking up and down stairs well, walking briskly and I can ride a bike with a full range of movement, all pain free. I now intend to return to teaching skiing at the Hemel Indoor Ski Centre as a further step in my knee rehabilitation.

He is a very confident and proficient consultant. He is empathic and follows up the care before and after an operation. I felt very supported by him and his staff at all stages of my procedure.

Lovely man. Perfect bedside manner. Explained everything at a level understandable by a non medic. Nothing was too much trouble. Visited me each day whilst I was recovering in hospital and appeared happy to talk with no apparent time pressures.
