I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood and Spire London East Hospital, offering private complex upper limb surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospitals. I provide a fully comprehensive shoulder and elbow service for degenerate disease and sports injuries, promoting good medical practice.
My approach to the patient is holistic and multidisciplinary, working closely with other skilled health professionals, in order to provide a caring and evidence-based treatment to my patients.
I am offering to my patients the option of wide awake surgery for the majority of hand and wrist surgery, as well as a great number of other upper limb procedures.
Since January 2017, he has been acting as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Barking, Havering and Redbridge, London.
Mr Mazis is a member of scientific committees and organizations and remains academically active having numerous publications of articles and pioneering surgical techniques, in scientific journals and reviews abroad.
He is also involved in the writing and translation of orthopaedic books.
He is passionate about innovation and works in collaboration with world recognised centres of excellence in upper limb surgery.
In 2011, he obtained his MSc in Metabolic Bone Disorders from the University of Athens Medical School.
In January 2014, he was awarded the PhD degree of the University of Athens with a grade of “Excellent”, after completing his thesis on: “Comparative study of extra-articular arthrodesis of the tarsal joint and heel extension osteotomy in children with spastic flat-foot in the context of cerebral palsy”, under the supervision of the Professor of Orthopaedics Mr. Panagiotis N. Soukakos.
He subsequently trained in the UK, acquiring experience and skills in the whole spectrum of Orthopaedics, obtaining the Fellow of European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT).
Since 2012 he is dedicated to his specialty, Upper Limb Surgery, as well as to the principles of medical science and ethics, having received training in leading centres in the United Kingdom.
He has been post-CCT fellowship trained in 2015, in the field of Upper Limb Surgery at the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS, Reading, Berkshire focusing on Shoulder Arthroplasty and Arthroscopies.
The following year, he finished another post CCT fellowship training, at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, in Upper Limb and complex Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty Surgery.
He has been a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society since 2015.
