Dr Qamar Ghafoor is an experienced Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Priory Hospital and The Harborne Hospital. He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2002 and underwent training within the West Midlands region.

He assumed the role of Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2011, and is the current Oncology Clinical Service lead at University Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Ghafoor specialises in treating lung and skin cancers using chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. He also has expertise in targeted therapy and takes a specialist interest in technical radiotherapy like Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy ( SABR ).

As the principal investigator for several national clinical trials, Dr Ghafoor has contributed to advancing cancer treatment protocols. He has also authored papers published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. Notably, he has pioneered 4-Dimensional and stereotactic lung radiotherapy initiatives within Birmingham and possesses expertise in administering Cyberknife treatment for lung tumours.
