Dr James Teo is a Consultant Neurologist, with interest in stroke and Parkinson's disease. Dr Teo's undergraduate training was at the University of Oxford and the Royal Free Medical School, with postgraduate training at Addenbrookes in Cambridge, the Royal Marsden, Charing Cross, St Mary's and University College London Hospital. Dr Teo also holds a PhD in Clinical Neurology from the UCL Institute of Neurology.
He has written over 40 peer-reviewed academic papers and his submission to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Data Challenge on the use of smartphones in Parkinson's Disease was awarded and Honorable Mention. This work led him to using digital technology for health and he is a chief investigator of a stoke prevention trial using a wearable patch. He is also an investigator in a range of NIH-portfolio clinical trials in stroke.
