Dr Rakshi is an exceptional neurologist with a detailed knowledge of a wide spectrum of neurological conditions. My case was highly complex and he took a forensic approach to understand all the core issues underlying my condition. This enabled him to diagnose a condition that had been missed by every other neurologist and was, in fact, treatable. Dr James Rakshi is unusual in being able to both be extremely professional and knowledgeable while being approachable and treating me as an equal as he gave detailed informed explanations. He was also able to empathise with the pain I was in, acting swiftly to arrange tests and results communicating directly rather than through an assistant making the care he provides seem more personal.

Dr James Rakshi is the best doctor I have ever met. No aspect of my care was too much trouble. He is highly competent and knowledgable, as well as able to be honest about uncertainties in diagnosis. Having seen Dr Rakshi 10 years ago, when my partner needed to see a Neurologist, I was pleased to find that he was still practicing. My partner was very ill and having already seen other consultants under various medical specialties, who were unable to diagnose his symptoms, we went to see Dr Rakshi. From the moment we walked in we were put at ease with his manner. He examined my partner and listened to the extensive medical history, although we had all my partner’s clinical letters, reports, and blood results. He told us his initial thoughts on diagnosis, which feel into 3 illness and full explanations of tests that may need to be completed and the reasons why the tests were required. He spent a few days reviewing my partner’s medical history to ensure he was arranging for the correct scans, etc. Over the following 3 weeks he was with us every step of the way pushing for test whether privately or within the NHS, being at the end of an email or the telephone and ensuring when my partner was at his lowest that he was admitted under the NHS, as he needed to be in an environment that would be able to complete various scans and test on one site. My partner and I are forever grateful to Dr Rakshi,, for his support and his passion and not giving up until he had completed the puzzle and has continued to support even though my partner is under the NHS. The only issue we had with Dr Rakshi was the football team he supports but we forgive him for that😊
