Murrayfield is is lovely, welcoming hospital in a relaxing setting that infuses a sense of relief even as you drive up to it . Partly because it’s private and there is an expectation that goes with that (and in my humble opinion, Murrayfield exceeds that expectation) but also in the attitude of the personnel and staff . I had a bit of a scary situation in hospital as my back went into spasm after the operation, my language was somewhat colourful at the time after which I did apologise profusely for it , but the whole attitude of the staff and ancillaries in calming me down and then constantly popping in during my stay to see how I was and if I needed anything, is all so very different, sadly than a NHS setting. Finally the waiting time to get operated on is obviously very much quicker than a NHS waiting list for the same operation and that, when you are in so much pain as I was , is the key deciding factor for me as to why Murrayfield. Excellent experience - can’t fault it or the personnel involved in my operation and post-op recovery.
