I have always been greeted by a smiling face and words of comfort, when attending The Kings Oak Hospital. I feel very comfortable when I attend an appointment.

Entering the lady at reception says straight down the corridor to room 6. Door at the end of the corridor says waiting room 3 so I go back and ask and she says yes. Going in, room 6 says do not disturb. But I’m wondering if it’s been left like that by accident. There’s the sound of wind playing but no sign explaining why so I spend a few minutes trying to figure out if it’s wind or a speaker. This could be handled by explaining clearly where to go and what will happen - particularly important to people who are neurodivergent, which is why I’m here. I’m anxious enough without extra cognitive load. She could say “Straight down the corridor into waiting room 3, the doctor is in room 6. If it shows do not disturb then wait and he’ll be with you shortly. There’s a speaker playing wind sounds to try to put you at ease.”

My experience with Living Mind was a very pleasurable one. The staff were friendly and made me feel at ease. I was able to ask as many questions and raise my concerns about the procedure. They were extremely helpful.

Everything has been simple in terms of arranging online appointments. The first time there was a mix up between my appointment being online or in person but it was fixed after that.
