I bought my son to be reviewed by Dr Stan and instead of being given help to book in the additional tests she recommended (MRI and EEG under sedation) I was just emailed a referral letter and asked to book these myself with no recommendation where to do this or which consultant to see or what the codes for the treatments were to give to our insurance company. Having now spoken to the Evelina childrens hospital I was told this was most unusual for a patient to book in their own appointment and not the clinician! It was generally very unhelpful service with no assistance on follow up. Dr Stan was herself very nice, knowledgeable and understood the issues but it is unprecedented to be left to organise these treatments ourselves?! Also particularly stressful ones involving sedation of a 3 year old child!
