I decided I needed to choose my surgeon when I was told the devastating news, in passing, that the decision had been made that I was to have a mastectomy based on my initial MRI. I knew that I needed a surgeon who would not only have the skills to perform the mastectomy but the talent to create an aesthetically pleasing reconstruction and the facility to explain, with patience, what was going to happen to me. I researched in complete devastation and panic and chose Mr Basu based on his very long list of credentials, glowing reviews and the kind look that shone out of his photos. I was amazed that I was able to arrange an appointment so quickly and, on meeting him, Mr Basu immediately put me and my husband at ease and I knew I had made the right choice. Mr Basu was the only professional to ask me how I felt about the thought of having a mastectomy and he couldn’t have been more empathetic and understanding when I explained how shocked and terrified yet resigned I was to the forthcoming life changing ordeal. He talked to my husband and I as though he cared about as people and knowing now how many patients he looks after, I can only marvel at that skill. He was extremely informative and went to great lengths to ensure we both understood what was to happen next. I had another MRI when my chemo was finished which showed that the tumour had near enough disappeared. When he saw the results Mr Basu suggested there was no reason to go ahead with a mastectomy and that he would be happy to perform a lumpectomy as long as I understood everything still hung in the balance depending on my genes test and pathology results. This was a life changing moment for me and with these words Nr Basu lifted a weight from my shoulders that I hadn’t realised I’d been carrying. I put my utmost trust in Mr Basu and it wasn’t unfounded- the results look fantastic and there have been no complications. When the pathology results came through as being clear, Mr Basu was beaming from ear to ear as he told us which again made me feel that he actually cared about me and my wellbeing. I can’t thank Mr Basu enough for being there through this terrifying experience. He is my forever hero and I feel extremely lucky and privileged to have been able to choose him as my surgeon. I would recommend him a hundred times over to anybody who finds themselves in this frightening situation. Thank you Mr Basu.

Dr Erel was the second dr I had a consultation with when going for my chin lipo. When I met Dr Erel I felt so much more at ease than the other dr I spoke to from another team in central london. I knew I was in the right place. I am now 6 weeks post op and I do not regret my decision. Dr Erel was very transparent with the procedure and told me not to worry as he would make sure I am not scared during the procedure. During the procedure Dr Erel and his team had some background music playing and Dr Erel even sang a few lyrics, all of this helped towards making sure I was not anxious and it truly worked. I am happy with my results and I can see the difference, however it is not a crazy difference where people have noticed, rather it is a subtle change which had greatly enhanced my confidence. The nurses were also very kind and supportive during my short stay. I felt very cared for. The receptionist are also always easy to get ahold of and dedicated a lot of time to any queries I had.

He is the most caring person, he explained everything in detail, and made me feel totally at ease. He takes such pride in his work, not only for himself, but more for his patients outcome , I felt at total ease from beginning to end , and what he has done for me has changed my life.
