Ms Siobhán McCabe is a qualified and experienced psychotherapist who provides therapeutic support to adult clients aged 18 years and over in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment. She completed her professional training at the Tivoli Institute in Dún Laoghaire and currently practises as part of the team at Empathy Counselling & Psychotherapy. Working from a psychodynamic perspective, Ms McCabe helps clients explore how unconscious patterns, early life experiences, and past relationships may influence their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, enabling them to develop greater self-awareness and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
Alongside her general psychotherapy practice, Ms McCabe has extensive experience supporting survivors of trauma. She has undertaken specialised training with the Rape Crisis Centre in working with individuals affected by sexual violence and accepts referrals from the Towards Healing service, providing compassionate, trauma-informed therapy that supports clients in processing difficult experiences and rebuilding resilience at their own pace.
Ms McCabe believes that the therapeutic relationship forms the foundation of effective psychotherapy, creating a trusting environment in which clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work towards positive change. She works with adults experiencing a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, stress, and personal development, tailoring therapy to the unique needs and goals of each individual.
