About John
John Bissett of Bissett Counselling is an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist based in Ballycallan, Kilkenny, in the southeast of Ireland.
With over twenty years of experience in the field of addictions, John has worked extensively with individuals, couples, families, and groups. He completed his professional training at Cuan Mhuire and Merchant Quay Ireland treatment centres.
John is a member of the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (A.C.I.) and adheres to its professional code of ethics and practice.
How I Help
John provides counselling across a wide range of areas, including general counselling, adult and childhood trauma, anxiety and depression, abuse, addictions, anger management, bereavement and loss, panic attacks, stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, and spirituality.
His therapeutic approach integrates Person-Centred Therapy with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
He offers a confidential, non-judgemental, and supportive environment where clients can explore personal issues—whether rooted in the past or present—at their own pace.

John has been a very strong participant in showing me light through a dark tunnel.
