Siân Brown is an experienced Senior Music Psychotherapist and multidisciplinary practitioner based in Cork, Ireland. Her experience in community settings, including Cork Simon Homeless Services, COPE and elder care, reflects this holistic and human-centred approach.
Beyond her clinical work, Siân Brown is a qualified supervisor and an active contributor to the creative arts therapy field in Ireland. She is committed to the development of transpersonal music therapy as an evolving discipline, using it to support clients.

She was an amazing music therapist who made me feel completely heard and understood. We wrote songs together about what I was going through, which was such a meaningful and helpful way for me to express my feelings. She was incredibly nonjudgmental, patient, compassionate, and understanding throughout every session. I’m so grateful for her support and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and skilled therapist.
Siân is an excellent music therapist. She has a great gift with people and navigating the mind through music and sound.
Sian worked as a Music Therapist with our organisation to facilitate a Therapeutic Drumming group for adult mental health service users in the community, over 8 sessions. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were obvious; she has a lovely manner with service users, demonstrating patience, compassion and understanding as well as providing instructions in a clear and gentle way. She provided various fun percussion instruments and African type drums and inspired great participation from all group members. This enabled service users relax, de-stress and reduce anxiety. The feedback from the group was excellent and we would love to run this group with her again in the future.
The whole session went really well and Sian interacted with the Participants in a very informal and hands on way which really suited the group dynamic.
Sian visits our nursing home every 2 weeks. She holds a safe space for those with dementia through her calm presense. She communictes through the medium of music, helping our residents to participate and reminise. Sian introduces our residents to unusual instruments and encourages them to try them out. The residents love Sians sessions and are always the better for them afterwards.
Title: Compassionate, skilled, and truly transformative I can’t recommend Sian enough. They blend music and art therapy beautifully—“music for the brain” in the best sense—making each session calm, engaging, and deeply therapeutic. Their recent support with art projects was fantastic: creative, well-structured, and tailored to individual needs. The interaction was warm, attentive, and encouraging throughout. What really stands out is how helpful, loving, and caring they are. They listen, they notice the small things, and they make it easy to open up without pressure. Communication is clear, scheduling is simple, and they’re very easy to deal with. I’ve seen genuine improvements in focus, mood, and confidence after sessions. If you’re looking for someone who is both highly professional and genuinely kind, Sian is outstanding. Tracey ( Activities coordinator Carechoice Ballynoe
