Mr Marko Lukic

Mr. Marko Lukic is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a focus on retina and uveitis, affiliated with the Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has played a pivotal role in advancing patient care and accessibility through the development of virtual clinics at Moorfields Eye Hospital South Division.

Marko's dedication to research and advanced training is evident through his completion of two fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital, specialising in Clinical Medical Retina and Clinical Research in Medical Retina. He has also been actively involved as an investigator in over 15 clinical trials.

In addition to his clinical work, Marko has made significant contributions to academia, earning a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Split, Croatia. He is recognised as a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists.

Marko's research interests primarily focus on real-world data in diabetic macular edema and age-related macular degeneration. He has been involved in collaborative projects with Moorfields Eye Hospital and Google's DeepMind to develop innovative artificial intelligence platforms for diagnosing retinal conditions.

Marko is a proactive member of esteemed societies such as The American Society of Retina Specialists, European Society of Retina Specialists, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. His passion for embracing new technologies and innovative treatment options, coupled with his exemplary leadership skills, makes him a valued contributor to the field of ophthalmology.
