Dr Kevin McCarroll

Dr Kevin McCarroll is a consultant physician and geriatrician. They graduated in medicine from Trinity College, Dublin. Their postgraduate training was completed in Dublin University hospitals. They also completed a clinical fellowship at the Mercer's Institute for Research on Ageing and was awarded a doctorate in Medicine for their thesis on vitamin D and its relationship to cognition, blood pressure, falls and mood.

Their research interests include vitamin D, bone health and cognitive impairment. They have contributed significantly to Vitamin D research in Ireland in recent years. They are also a co-investigator in a study of over 5000 older adults.

They are currently conducting research on secondary hyperparathyroidism and its effects on bone mineral density.
