In recent months, the admin and reception side of the clinic has improved and become more organised. However, I have had ongoing issues with the way this clinic is run. Sometimes, Doctors are late for phone and in-person appointments (on one occasion by over 2 hours!). If waiting for a phone call, this is extremely stressful as obviously other work/family commitments need to fit around the appointment time. Reception will never contact you to inform you if the service is running late, and if you email/phone to check, you will not get a response. My second issue is that you have to pay in full for any service, up front, no matter how far in advance you book. You do not get an invoice that you can submit to health insurers until after the appointment. So, say you book 4 Psychologist appointments and 1 medication review within one month, you would have to pay out 700 euros up front, which cannot be claimed back until after each appointment. The alternative is not to book until the last minute, but then you would struggle to get an appointment slot. Most other providers would take a deposit or expect payment post-service, but this does not seem to be an option at ADHD Doc Finally, receipts for health insurance are not sent out automatically after the appointment. Sometimes you will get one, and sometimes you won't, meaning you have to chase/request one. Having a system which does not allow you to plan ahead, manage your time, requires you to remember to ask for receipts a...

ADHD clinic takes several months to book an appointment but once in the system the team are professional and friendly. The key issue is the administration. It is impossible to contact to the facility. No contact numbers - no landlines - no email address. It is a very strange practice for a clinic which has several highly qualified medical professional. Surely, they can invest more into the support team who are coordinating appointments and responding to patients queries. The first point of contact is very disappointing service.

Dr Maria Loureiro has been outstanding from start to finish. My assessment felt thorough and compassionate. Dr Maria treats you like a true partner in your health - respecting your input and never talking down to you. The follow-up appointments have focused on carefully adjusting the treatment until we found the right medication and dose. I feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for.

My experience of ADHDdoc was absolutely positive from beginning to end. I cannot express how supportive, knowledgeable, approachable, validating and caring Dr Sarah Carty is. Following a lifetime of misunderstanding myself and being misunderstood it means so much to have someone validate and understand my experience. There is no judgement at all but a real understanding of the struggles of life with undiagnosed ADHD. At the age of 47, I feel like I have been given a second chance at life. The support and treatment that I received during the assessment process and post diagnosis is life changing. I cannot rate Dr Carty and ADHDdoc highly enough. I have recommended ADHDdoc to a few people who have also gone on to find them excellent. I wish that everyone who needs a diagnosis could avail of the services in ADHDdoc. Thank you to Dr Carty for helping me to be my best self and to thrive with ADHD.

Hi, I am a very concerned. I came to the clinic this morning with my daughter Annie Waters for her 1 hour screening and testing session, which consisted of nothing other than a blood sample and blood pressure test which I could have got from her doctor to send on, a paper questionnaire, which took max 20 mins to fill out. I am completely at odds as to What I paid €400 for. Considering I have waited over two months for the appointment. I was expecting some sort of interaction with a specialist, but I ended up speaking only with a receptionist (Who was very nice). I then had to pay another €400 (50%) so that is €800 up front and yet no specialist/doctor has even said hello to my daughter. It would be interesting to get your thoughts here. Many Thanks John W

Hi John Thank you for your review – We completely understand your concerns and appreciate you sharing this. To clarify, Annie attended the first part of a two-step assessment process. During this initial appointment, she completed a QbTest while being observed, followed by blood tests and physical measurements. The cost for this first stage of the assessment is €400. The second part of the assessment was scheduled on completion of her 1st visit for which a €400 deposit was paid. The balance will be due on the day of the appointment. At that stage, the doctor will review all the data collected – including the QbTest results, medical history, questionnaire responses she completed on her 1st visit – and carry out a detailed assessment with Annie. This appointment typically lasts around 2 hours. Our process is structured in two parts to ensure that every patient receives a comprehensive and accurate evaluation. I hope this helps clarify things, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions or concerns through the link below. Mainly been very good experience. Only issue has been trying to get appointment times with dr when child has finished school but have always got sorted in the end. I would add that follow up appointments are quite expensive given how much has already been paid re assessments process.
