ADHDdoc adopts a comprehensive, integrated, and evidence-based approach to diagnosing and treating attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The service is based on a close collaboration between primary and secondary care, where highly trained General Practitioners work alongside consultant psychiatrists and psychologists to diagnose and treat adults with ADHD.
The model of care is divided into two phases. The initial assessment phase is conducted over the first two visits, during which each patient’s unique needs are thoroughly evaluated. This structured approach ensures that patients receive a clear, step-by-step pathway towards managing their condition.
The multidisciplinary team at ADHDdoc includes highly skilled General Practitioners, consultant psychiatrists, and psychologists, all working together to accurately diagnose ADHD in adults and develop tailored treatment plans. I find the followup care with the nurse Bairbre extremely helpful and efficient. I often send a request for prescription change or a question to the online system or by text and then get a response very promptly , usually that day or the next, to answer or set up a phone call. The nurse Bairbre has significant experience of both pills and skills required for ADHD people, so has given me very caring and supportive advise. I’d highly recommend this support at ADHD DOC. My recent visit was a phone appointment with the nurse. I needed my medication reviewed. It's great that the nurse can change medication or explain what might work better. Just email the nurse she will get back and arrange a phone call. Don't need to go to the doctor and pay a €100 each time. If you need to talk to anyone about your medication just email the nurse. Amazing service.
I do most of my consultations online. The system is very easy to use and the staff are very friendly. Follow up appointments are always arranged for me and reminder messages are always sent. Great system and very supportive team.
I didn’t have the best experience with ADHDdoc. Admin/customer service was fine but my assessment experience wasn’t the best. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Autism through a different service, however this wasn’t picked up at all by ADHDdoc. It was pretty much, you don’t have ADHD and that’s it. As anyone knows who feels they need an assessment, the whole process can be stressful in terms of doubting yourself and wanting to come across as genuine and have your voice heard. I felt like I was listened to during the assessment, but the conclusion came as a blow and I felt like I was dismissed. Luckily I was referred on and got the answers I need. What frustrates me the most about this on reflection, is there was no mention during the assessment that my symptoms/traits were similar to Autistic traits. I know that if this was relayed to me, it would have eased a lot of stress and anguish. Yet I felt deflated, embarrassed and very upset after the assessment. It felt very much like the clinic is simply just ADHD focused and if you don’t have it well good luck to you. Neurodivergence as a whole didn’t seem to be at the forefront of this clinic’s agenda. This is why I would urge anyone reading this that if you suspect you have autism or adhd, choose a different clinic.
My phone consults have been forgotten multiple times (most recently today! And I was supposed to get an updated prescription before my doctor went on leave and she's just never called and now it's out of hours so I'll be without meds for the weekend again!!) and medication wasn't sent to the pharmacy when they said they would. They did apologize but then forgot the next appointment after. It's ridiculous, I feel bad for the lovely staff at reception having to take the heat for careless doctors.
I had a consultation with Dr. Liz McCarron. She was very easy to talk to and very professional. I could t rate her highly enough.
I have had several bad experiences with this practice. When visiting in-person wait times were very long, when I booked phone consultations the timing was unpredictable. Very stressful since my practitioner only works 2/7, and I am a full time student with a part time job. Ive had experiences where I booked the phone consult, took my break at the scheduled time only to not recieve a call, then when i finally did get the call i had to run to the bathroom during my shift to take it. When I found a medication and dose that worked for me after the titration period my practitioner said they were "starting to loose hope" in our follow up appointment which was extremely odd. Finally, my most recent experience which is causing me to write this review is that I learned they have NEVER contacted my GP. My own GP prescribed me an SSRI, and the pharmacist flagged a potential interaction. I've now been waiting 12 days for my practitioner to contact my GP, and only this morning did anyone think to tell me that my practitioner has been on sick leave this whole time. That secretary I spoke to today was lovely and very helpful. She has forwarded the message to the covering doctor, and has said she will phone me back with a progress update by end of day. While this individual was very helpful, it is unacceptable that nobody else thought to forward my request to someone else in my practitioner's absence, especially since I have been in contact multiple times over the past 12 days. Also as many other reviews have stated, it's incredible expensive. I will have to find someone else to prescribe ...
Read moreI have an online appointment for 12.30. No one has called me. When I call the office, phones are off as everyone is on lunch. No email address.... Seriously! Is that how you treat your patients?
It was pleasant overall. All the questions did tire me out alot after we hit the first hour, but that’s to be expected. My answers were always understood and I was able to have a laugh with my interviewees which helped alot. I never felt stupid or intimidated which was important for me.
