It was pleasant overall. All the questions did tire me out alot after we hit the first hour, but that’s to be expected. My answers were always understood and I was able to have a laugh with my interviewees which helped alot. I never felt stupid or intimidated which was important for me.

Avoid, avoid and avoid! My assessment was never completed, I chased them for a year for receipts for money I paid and have heard nothing back. They really take advantage of vulnerable people and it’s disgusting they are allowed to get away with it. They don’t answer emails, or phone calls. I can’t afford to go elsewhere for an assessment as I have to save up again!

Very disappointing experience. Customer service was poor from start to finish. Communication felt rushed and impersonal, and the overwhelming impression was that the priority was payment rather than patient care. The cost is extremely high, and it left me feeling that if you’re willing to pay the extortionate fee, a diagnosis is essentially guaranteed. There was little sense of thorough assessment or genuine clinical engagement. Overall, the process felt transactional and stressful rather than supportive or professional. I would not recommend unless you’re comfortable paying a very high price for what feels like a box-ticking exercise.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience felt stressful or unsupportive, as this is not what we aim to provide for children, young people, or their families. Our service is clinician-led, not business-led. ADHDdoc was founded by experienced doctors in response to a very real gap in access to timely, thorough ADHD assessment and appropriate ongoing care. We are deeply passionate about this work, and clinical quality and patient wellbeing are always our primary focus. We feel it may be helpful to clarify our assessment process for those reading this review. Our Child and Adolescent ADHD assessments are not box-ticking exercises and are never designed to guarantee a diagnosis. Each assessment is comprehensive, structured, and clinically rigorous, taking place over two visits and more than four hours in total. The process includes: • Completion of validated screening questionnaires in advance, allowing clinical time to focus on the child and family rather than paperwork • A multi-hour face-to-face assessment, including separate interviews with parents and the young person • An objective continuous performance test (QbTest) • A 90-minute results and formulation appointment with a GP trained in ADHD, where findings are discussed in detail and a diagnosis is made only if clinically appropriate Where a diagnosis is confirmed, we discuss all treatment options, including non-medication supports, and work as part of a multi disciplinary team with psychology and occupational therapy colleagues. Many children assessed by our service do not meet diagnostic criteria, and no diagnosis is ever guaranteed. We recognise that private assessments represent a significant financial commitment for families. Our fees are published transparently on our website and reflect the time, clinical expertise, and detailed reports required — particularly for schools and ongoing support planning. We are sorry that this was not your experience, and we continue to review feedback carefully to improve communication and ensure families feel supported throughout what can be an understandably anxious process. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns directly. Thank you, The ADHDdoc Team

My son, my husband and I recently attended an assessment with Keith Walker, followed by a feedback appointment with Dr. Eimear O’Hanlon. From the very beginning, the experience has been outstanding. Keith was warm, professional, compassionate and incredibly thorough, helping my son feel at ease during what could have been a very stressful process. Dr. O’Hanlon was equally supportive and clear during the feedback session, taking the time to answer all of our questions with patience and compassion. As a family, we have genuinely felt listened to and supported at every step. We all left feeling reassured, informed, and confident in the next steps. The service has been exceptional so far, and we’re grateful for the care and understanding shown throughout the entire process.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We’re delighted to hear that your experience felt supportive and reassuring, and that your son felt at ease throughout the assessment process. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Keith Walker and Dr. Eimear O’Hanlon, who are both deeply committed to providing compassionate, thorough, and family-centred care. Creating a space where families feel listened to, informed, and supported at every step is something we take very seriously. Thank you again for trusting us with your son’s care. We’re glad to have been able to support your family and wish you all the very best moving forward. The ADHDdoc Team

I found the staff decent and experience ok. The fact that you have no parking is unacceptable. Given the cost of the whole experience. It added a lot of anxiety to my experience
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you found our staff helpful, and we’re sorry that parking difficulties added extra stress to what can already be an important and sometimes anxious day. We really appreciate you flagging this, as practical details like this can make a big difference to how supported families feel. We’ll continue to look at how we communicate this information in advance to help visits feel as smooth as possible. Thank you again for your feedback. The ADHDdoc Team

Dr Liz McCarron is a doctor with both expertise and compassion which is a rarity. I've been particularly fortunate to have been in her care. She has gone above and beyond my expectations which I really needed at a very difficult period of my life.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re delighted to hear that Dr. Liz McCarron was able to provide the care and support you needed during such a challenging time. We’ll be sure to pass on your feedback to her—it means a lot to know that her expertise and compassion made a real difference. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. At nearly 40, finally being diagnosed with ADHD has transformed the way I understand myself—particularly after learning about rejection-sensitive dysphoria. Dr. Maria Loureiro has given me clarity, compassion, and a new sense of self-understanding. While it was a little hard to reach the clinic at first, the recent improvements have been amazing…their communication has become much smoother, the staff is friendly and professional, and the clinic itself is beautiful and welcoming. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received and excited to continue my ADHD journey with them.

Wow what can I say, such an amazing experience with ADHD Doc. The highest level of expertise, knowledge, understanding and compassion around been neurodivergent and having ADHD. After struggling for years with undiagnosed ADHD, seeking help and support in all the wrong places. I can finally say im so happy and truly blessed to have found Dr Sarah Carthy and her team at ADHD Doc, Sarah is like a breath of fresh air, she is so kind, knowledgeable and compassionate around helping people manage there ADHD symptoms, to thrive in all areas and live there best quality of life. Its so heart warming to have been searching for years for help and in one appointment with Dr Carthy have everything click, make sense with years of questions answered. In recent months, the admin and reception side of the clinic has improved and become more organised. However, I have had ongoing issues with the way this clinic is run. Sometimes, Doctors are late for phone and in-person appointments (on one occasion by over 2 hours!). If waiting for a phone call, this is extremely stressful as obviously other work/family commitments need to fit around the appointment time. Reception will never contact you to inform you if the service is running late, and if you email/phone to check, you will not get a response. My second issue is that you have to pay in full for any service, up front, no matter how far in advance you book. You do not get an invoice that you can submit to health insurers until after the appointment. So, say you book 4 Psychologist appointments and 1 medication review within one month, you would have to pay out 700 euros up front, which cannot be claimed back until after each appointment. The alternative is not to book until the last minute, but then you would struggle to get an appointment slot. Most other providers would take a deposit or expect payment post-service, but this does not seem to be an option at ADHD Doc Finally, receipts for health insurance are not sent out automatically after the appointment. Sometimes you will get one, and sometimes you won't, meaning you have to chase/request one. Having a system which does not allow you to plan ahead, manage your time, requires you to remember to ask for receipts a...
